What’s up folks? We’re Stacey and Egon, and this is our travel blog. We anticipate that most readers will be people that we know from the “real” world (primarily our Mom’s), but we invite all you e-people to follow along with our travels as well because, well…you know, we’re extremely fresh.
That being said, we will make attempts to give the people who do not personally know us appropriate context to understand who we are (predominately snide assholes of the kind variety) and what we’re about (sauces with well-constructed flavor profiles and cats). A lot of this juggling of voices pitched to different audiences will probably come off as fairly awkward and amateurish because—in respect to blogging—we are pretty awkward and amateurish. Anyhow, all this meta-shit aside, we are on a trip that we are extremely excited to experience and share with you.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
Dope photography
Witty repartee with extra Bay Area flavor
Interesting perspectives on the global economy
Insights about favorite places to eat, sleep, and visit (all inexpensive since Evan is frugal as hell)
Bonus: Freestyle raps about each location from Egon Brainparts himself
If that doesn’t sell you, maybe our love story will.
A BIT OF HISTORY ABOUT HOW WE GOT HERE…
Stacey and I met about four years ago trolling the interwebs for hot pieces of tail to “tap”*. Early on in our “tapping” days**, we discovered that we shared a mutual love for travelling. One of the first gifts I gave Stacey was a travel guide to South-East Asia. After several years throwing around hypothetical ideas in the face of difficult logistical professional/financial realities, the universe threw us a bone that allowed us to finally make this two month trip a reality: In June Stacey found out her job was going to be eliminated by November. Though bittersweet, the layoff was the push we needed to make shit happen (and we’d be dumb not to take advantage of it).
*Stacey strongly disapproved of this sentence, but allowed it to be included for the sake of my artistic expression
**This one either.
